So the average rating on my FMVS is 2.61. You can't say STOP POSTING much better than that.

The average price people are willing to pay for my commissions is $10 - $15, and that is also a very stentorian way of saying I figure I'll at least get what I paid for.

I'm not an attention whore, I swear. I still cringe at the idea of getting 5,000 "ha ha dis is gr8" comments, or 5,000 "I think you should have..." comments. I don't really WANT the attention I'm apt to get on a shithole er, site like this...

I think I'm just confused. People used to rant and rave over how great I was when I sucked, and now that I'm better, people act as if I'm drawing inflated furry slash animu on lined paper (... of course, if I tried that, I would automatically be featured).

...anyway.

I had the baby giggling hardcore, earlier, and that was cool. From screaming upset to serious happy in .32 seconds.

At least I'm good at something.

The half up front is NON REFUNDABLE, EVEN IF THE WORK IS NOT EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAD IN MIND. I did the work anyway, and I work very hard on commissions, and you still get an image, even if it isn't perfect in your mind.

So my recent poll revealed that few people are willing to pay more than $10 - $15 for my work. I'm raising prices anyway, because I've got juuuust enough self-esteem to know I'm selling myself short, and because even though I am searching for part-time work, I need to pay for my Internet and my kid's diapers somehow. I'm not above trying to evoke your sympathy with that (I will also need a new Wacom soon, if you want to keep seeing work from me).

Call it the "Support a Starving Artist and Diaper a Sweet Little Girl Fund."

Except that would be a hella long acronym. SSADSLGF. Sounds like word-vomit.

PRICING

$20 for a sketch with no color. This is a full body, waist up or portrait.

$25 for a waist up or portrait with color.

$40 for a full body with color. These can take one or two days to complete, and I put a SHITLOAD of effort into them, so I think that's fair.

Extra figures added to a pic will be $10 each.

Payment will be by PayPal only.

First come, first serve, unless I'm waiting on a particularly long negotiation period, in which case I will work on the next in line.

If I get a lot of takers (HA), you will be added to a waiting list. If you don't want that, that's fine... but I don't see how commissions would be important enough for someone to mind the wait. Of course, waiting list people are not required to pay for the first half of their commission until work is started.

REMINDER: I do have a three-month-old baby, and these will take a little while to complete, depending on complexity.

~giffiezilla - My sister. Awesome, usually beautiful snapshots, quirky sense of humor (titles and comments are part of the artistic experience), generally great (and I do not say that because I'm supposed to).



*chilin - Awesome, skilled, talented. He's got this peeve against using references (personally, I figure if Norman Rockwell used models, what's the harm, so long as you're not all TRACE TRACE TRACE HA HA I DUN GUD), but I guess that's why he's got such a great imagination.



~ember-snow - I met ember-snow on paintchat. What strikes me about her, besides her creativity (which I envy) and her writing, is that she is a genuinely NICE person, and that is rare indeed.



~komala - Komala and I go waaaay back. Has it been ten years? It may have been. She was the proprietor of Chiaroscuro Oekaki, now Takoyaki. I was an idiot trying to figure out digital art with first a mouse, then a crappy Aiptek which broke after two years (do not buy an Aiptek). She was always quick with a kind comment, and if it hadn't been for that board, I may have given up digital art completely. I know I wouldn't have met many of the people who are still my best friends. Komala is big in the Austrailian comics scene, and her style is original, fresh and impressive.

Unfortunately, she rarely posts to dA anymore, but you can find her elsewhere, I'm sure.



:dev Krad-Eelav: - Krad is another EXTREMELY NICE person. I really love that, and I wish I could be that more often. She's got some lovely Fire Emblem fanart, some AMAZING realism speedpaints, and a sense of style and composition I would give my right arm for.
